Tenancy and Property
Aim
Tenancy and Property supports people to move from homelessness into long-term housing by providing around 300 transitional and medium-term properties for tenants who receive ongoing support.
The properties provide a vital housing alternative to people who may otherwise sleep rough or be forced to use unsuitable temporary accommodation options.
Eligibility
Singles and families who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness who and have been assessed by an entry point service and are engaged with a support agency are eligible for assistance.
Access
You can access Tenancy and Property through HomeGround's IAP service, which can be contacted by calling 1800 048 325 or visiting us at 68 Oxford Street Collingwood or calling 9537 7711 or visiting us at 122 Chapel Street St Kilda 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
More Infornation
The transitional housing properties are affordable, fully-furnished and owned or leased by the Office of Housing with us as the ‘social landlord’. Tenants have the same rights and responsibilities under the Residential Tenancies Act as other tenants.
HomeGround works in partnership with more than 60 support agencies, who provide support to clients living in the transitional properties. It is a requirement that all people in this program are linked to a community-based support worker who can help the tenant work towards finding permanent accommodation.
As landlord, we liaise with tenants around tenancy and property issues and manage relationships with the Office of Housing, real estate agencies, owners, corporations and neighbours.
