About Us
HomeGround’s vision is to end homelessness in Melbourne.
Our mission is to get people housed and to keep people housed.
We do this by providing a range of housing and support services in the inner urban, southern and northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. We work in partnership with other community organisations, hospitals and government. We research housing issues and homelessness, and support others’ research. We campaign to end homelessness.
HomeGround is independent, not-for-profit and secular.
What We KnowBased on our work and research of our clients;
- People have different experiences of homelessness, depending on how they became homeless.
- Homelessness is bad for you.
- Preventing homelessness is possible.
- Ending homelessness is possible. It requires access to safe, decent, affordable, permanent housing and relevant support to deal with the trauma of homelessness.
What We Believe
That access to decent, secure and affordable housing is a human right.
With stronger community awareness and support, ending homelessness will become a reality.
