About us
Vision
HomeGround’s vision is to end homelessness in Melbourne.
Mission
Our mission is to get people housed and to keep people housed.
Approach
We do this by providing housing and support services across Melbourne, developing innovative housing models, advocating for systems change and researching the causes and solutions to homelessness.
We work in partnership with public, private and community sector organisations and with the support of philanthropic and individual supporters.
We are an independent, secular and non-profit organisation with more than 130 staff across four offices.
Not only is ending homelessness possible, but it is an integral part of creating a more just and inclusive community.
We are registered as a Registered Housing Provider and accredited under the Quality Improvement Council (QICSA), Homeless Assistance Service and Psychiatric Disability Rehabilitation and Support standards.
Values
People
People are at the centre of everything we do. We think about the impact our decisions have on each other, our clients and everyone we work with. We are compassionate, and we listen.
Respect
Respect is appreciating what we value and honouring who we are. We treat others the way we want to be treated and earn respect through this mutual understanding.
Dignity
Everyone has the right to realise their potential and recognise their self worth. HomeGround’s mission and practices value the dignity of all individuals.
Choice
Each person has the right to make informed and empowered personal choices without interference. Regardless of whether or not we agree with the choices people make, we will respect their right to choose.
Diversity
Drawing on the power of people’s differences is of equal value as gaining strength from the similarities. We respect our differences and learn from them.
